New Templates don't work in old versions

I created a template in 2000 and then i saved it back to 97
it works fine in 2000 but when i open it in 97 the images
in the header and footer shift down and to the right. (off
the page in fact)

how can i make one template for both versions?
 
Hi Benp,

Do the images have "text wrap" formatting ("float over
text")? Word 97 handles that a little differently from later
versions, which might explain what you're seeing.

Try inserting FRAMES from the Forms toolbar, then insert the
pictures with NO text wrap formatting into the frames. That
may be more stable.
