Two easy questions:
1) Bought a new computer. On my old I had Office 98
with power point. When I bought my new computer it came
with office "home" NO power point. The new system has
Windows XP. What is the best way to buy or add the
newest version of Power Point??

2) Is there any way to ask Microsoft common easy
questins like No. 1 ??

Thanks for the help!

1) With Dell you can often upgrade for the normal dif in price,
2) you can run ppt2000 on an xp machine, maybe the same for 98

Before we tell you how to do what, we need to clearly understand what you
currently have. Are you mixing up Office with Windows? There is no Office
Suite called "home". There is however Windows XP Home. There allso was no
Office 98 for the PC, but there was a Windows 98 version.

It is very possible that you have Windows XP Home edition and Office XP
Small Business Edition. If so, your best bet would be to wait a month and
purchase the upgrade to Office 2003 Standard. Microsoft will be releasing
it on October 21st.

It is also possible that you have only Windows XP Home and no Office at all.
Please let us know.

Actually there was an office 98 for MAC. Perhaps if he had office 97 it
would work on winxp. However some detials do need to be sorted. You can
Also if you did have powerpoint97 , you can go to the link below and buy
powerpoiny xp as an "upgrade" for $109.

That is why I said, "There also was no Office 98 for the PC..." Buying an
upgrade without confirming that you have a qualifying product is not a good
idea. Office XP SBE is not a qualifying product. Office 97 would qualify,
but we need to confirm that it indeed is 97 and that the original media is
still available, because it will be required when it comes time to apply the
upgrade.

Or even Office 2003 Small Business Edition. It has PPT.

You can purchase the full (note: NOT upgrade) version of PowerPoint as a
standalone app and install that), or you could wait until Oct 21 when 2003
ships; you can get an upgrade that includes Powerpoint. See the upgrade
info linked to from here:
