You certainly don't need a GeForce card for the office; I would recommend
instead looking for the best 2D card you can find, like those made by
Matrox. Since they are not 3d gaming cards they probably aren't going to
need a fan so that will help cut down on the noise. I would take the money
saved and put it towards a better modem if it were me, preferably an
external controller based modem rather than a winmodem. Just an opinion
though.

Determine what software you want and need to run first.
Then buy hardware that does that very well. Office
applications do not require the top of the line graphics
that games require.

Consider getting a DVD-RW drive because you can back-up 4.7
GB easily and DVD-RW (LG makes a nice multi-format drive)
are very affordable.

Consider what you will expect for expansion and plan for a
LAN.

I like Intel and Office applications and such run just fine
on the Intel graphics on-board. I do plan to add an AGP
all-in-wonder ATI because I want to do video/TV in-out.

Consider a flat panel LCD. Make sure you get a good
keyboard and consider a trackball to avoid RSI.

Antec has a new case, I think they call it Sonata, very
quiet, rubber mounted drives, 120 mm slow fans.

Hi;
The best system is only as good as the back-ups and the strict adherence to
them.
A few "goodies" like a super-duper vid.card (game-intensive or not) is
really irrelevant in that box but "what the h*ck" it won't cause it to fail.

The "RAID" and "SATA" combo has better be well maintained, studied and
understood.
Frankly that combination still makes me flinch and hesitate for the usage
intended here.
It may be the "way of the future" but I'll somewhat remain leery as to its
benefits versus the "conservative" realms of a BUSINESS for the next year or
so.
There's that big push going on for SATA but the technology is in its infancy
still and I won't trust/test the reliability of it when my $$$ and my
business are at stake.
RAID and IDE are proven.
My 2 cents!

TO DMG;

He lives in EUROPE.

5-6-7-8 hours (or even more) ahead of us in N.A.

France is 5, Romania is 8 and some folks with his surname (very exact as in
"same one" I know of over in Ro).

"Hey man", couldn't help but notice that you're 3 minutes and 0.73 seconds
ahead of me.
?One of us has it wrong there?

Hi;

Not every one is on O.E.

Test time: Don't believe me and I'll fire one or two even three and dare you
to even find the YEAR (forwards or backwards, your pick) I reset my machine
to IF I choose to do so.
It will really scramble your beliefs.
Some guys in here actually knows their stuffs and I only consider myself a
crude amateur of the game.

AMEN

Thanks, I will buy a DVD burner later external USB2.0.
I changed my time, I was in Eupope.

The Geforce 4 MX 440 is not a true gaming card. It is a low end 3D card and
should not create a overheat problem. Heck, some models of 440 do not even
come with a fan.
