I recently put together a new computer. When I went to install XP Pro it
installed about 2/3 of the way then it rebooted. It restarts setup gets to
about the some place it reboots again. It gets to where it is registering
components when it reboots. The system I put together is a 2.5 Celeron
processor, ECS L4VXA2 motherboard, with 512mb of DDR2700, with a 128mb 3D
radeon 7500 video card and a 350w power supply. I just can't figure out what
is going wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

here is a combo like mine http://shop4.outpost.com/product/3881647

I have found that updating the bios will resolve many XP installation
failures. Other than that it could be an overheating problem, faulty RAM or
defective or incompatible video card, or drivers. Overheating processors
will often reboot the machine. Did you use heatsink compound? Also check
inside the case for proper ventilation, make sure all the fans are working.
Go into BIOS and check your temps for the cpu. Are you using 1 or 2 sticks
of RAM? Are they matching pairs? Try installing XP with a different stick of
DDR, or take one of your sticks out if using 2. Check the voltage output of
your power supply if you know how, and try using a different video card.
