Double-check any existing jumpers.

Clear CMOS.

Possibly inadequate or DOA power supply? Mention make/model/ratings
if applicable.

You claim "nothing more happens" after "fan spins", but then you
mention "no drives detected"... this is an odd way of describing the
situation... Is it POSTing, video to the monitor?

Pull out all the devices you have connected to the mother board. You can
just disconnect the hard drive cables. Install the vidio card and memory
and connect the monitor. Not sure about that particular board but see if
has a LED on the motherboard and is it on If the computer has an internal
speaker connect that. Turn o the computer. See if the computer will send
anything to the monitor now. You may plug in the keyboard and mouse once
you get something on the monitor. Then you can start installing the other
deivces.

Good advice, also try the ram in a different slot. Seen that "fix" things as
well.

hi,
tried all suggestions below but no success! power obviously going to the
board as the fan is working but i think the problem could lie with case
wiring but unsure how to correctly wire!
thanks

You don't need ANY of the case wiring installed to test the
motherboard, get it to power-up, POST so you see video.

Try disconnecting all case front-panel wires and use a screwedriver
tip (anything metal) to short the power switch pins momentarily. If
that doesn't work with all the devices disconnected (saving CPU,
heatsink fan, 1 memory module and the video card), then I'd suspect
the power supply.... it isn't all that good.

You might check the voltage input switch on the power supply though,
verify it's correct for your location, 110 or 220V.

Does your motherboard have a socket for the four-pin 12v connector to power
the CPU and does your PSU have the plug and (bloody run-on sentences!) is it
plugged in?

yeh, thanks but checked that already!

Pull power cord out of the back.Set the clear CMOS jumper to clear and
then back to the none clear position. Then re-try.Do you get any
warning beeps from the PC speaker(make sure it's connected).
