Hey Plun

This is the same old junk being renamed to try fool new
users. The warning oneclicksearches was giving months
ago "Your Pc is infected, Spyware Details -
StealthSWs114.h!dll, Access port:#33299" is exactly the
same as what this one is giving and oneclick isnt
available now so I suspect they have just changed the
address and some graphics.

All these app's advertised on this site are very
annoying, All start automatically when the system
reboots, All detect cookies as severe threats and say
high risk and all want to charge you to remove these
cookies.

Spy Trooper is just Spy Sheriff but again under a new
name, the same Icons on the system tray and the same
warnings that you must protect the system by enabling all
protection then trying to enable protection says you must
pay first so Im sure this is SpySheriff.

I had some ABI files and Transponders saved in a folder
and none of these 4 scanners that are being advertised on
the site found them instead detecting cookies and
displaying "Status:Infected, Risk:Severe, DataLoss
Risk:Severe, Found in System File" for each cookie so its
the same old trick to fool people into buying them.

PS Guard and World Antispy - Both detect these cookies
from fastclick/doubleclick and say I need to pay to
remove them and charge $9.95 for 30 days then says $1.95
fee and $59.95 every year untill I cancel so its unclear
what happens after the 30days if they would keep taking
the $9.95 ? I wouldnt be interested in finding out :)

Raze again missed the malware files & transponders but
detected cookies and said I had to pay to remove them at
$49.95 every 6 months untill its cancelled

SpyTrooper is the most annoying of all with constant
system tray pop ups and not being able to stop it
starting with Windows unless you pay as the option is
disabled with the free trial,

SpyTrooper is $29.50 for 6 months/ $49.50 for 1 year or
the special offer of a lifetime membership for $29.50 ?

Are we tempted in giving this scum credit card
information :)

A funny part of the Terms of Service here:

"If you request refund, dispute or deny a valid charge,
your credit card account along with your name and address
will immediately be added to a negative database. The
negative database is shared by thousands of merchants on
the internet, both large and small, and you will not be
able to purchase goods or services from said merchants in
the future. If you are UNSATISFIED with this site content
you must explain reasons to receive a refund. You can do
this in one day after join"

"You agree that PAY*****.COM, in its sole discretion, may
terminate your password, account (or any part thereof) or
use of the Service, and remove and discard any Content
within the Service, for any reason, PAY*****.COM may also
in its sole discretion and at any time discontinue
providing the Service, or any part thereof, with or
without notice.

You agree that any termination of your access to the
Service under any provision of this TOS may be effected
without prior notice, and acknowledge and agree that
PAY*****.COM may immediately deactivate or delete your
account and all related information and files in your
account and/or bar any further access to such files or
the Service. Further, you agree that PAY*****.COM shall
not be liable to you or any third-party for any
termination of your access to the Service"

Thats Nice to know that you pay them and they may decide
to stop the service anytime they wish or delete your
account and you agree that they can do this by paying
them ;)

I'm sticking with MS Antispy but thanks for the offer
SpyTrooper :)

Hi Andy

I noticed that but the difference now is that these scums
using a XP Security center look alike for webUI and thats
awful.

Users crawling around in the prOn swamp, gambling, crackz
etc will probably use this site without any thought about
spyware.

Hi Plun

I agree its unfair but oneclick used the exact same look
as the "Help and Support Centre" from Windows and gave
the exact same message, Errorguard & Errorsafe use MS
Security Centre look & Icons and even the name Microsoft
on some of thier sites, Winprotect used to have 3 pages
with Microsoft graphics and logo's to advertise rogue
products which I sent details of to MS months ago and
thats not active now so I fully agree with you Plun its
not nice but it's also getting to be very common to trick
novice users into buying rogue removers.

Its good to get the warnings out there so these sites can
be added to restricted lists but these days you can take
any genuine sounding name and type it into the address
bar and you will probably find a suspect site at the end
of it, I was going to give examples of some but its too
risky as the sites Ive just visited by typing genuine
sounding names are obviously rogue or malicious, Even
using variations of MSAS in the address bar bring some
very suspect looking sites offering Spybot for a price
but this isnt Spybot S&D then another for ms updates
where they say critical patch then it takes you to the
payments page ? this is the nature of the internet these
days its all a game really so it wise to find out about
these tactics to prevent problems so I appreciate the
spywareblog story to make people aware of this.

Thanks

Andy

Your mother raised you well, Andy--I'm not sure that I would be so polite
with them!

I suspect they are using Microsoft copyrighted images. You might send this
to (e-mail address removed).

Whoops - forgot where the images were cited from.
I suspect Microsoft has already been notified, but I'll send it along, just
in case.

Thanks Bill

It was you who advised me where to send the information
on Winprotect a few months ago as they were using the MS
name, graphics and logo's on thier pages also icons in
the system tray to match the security centre icons which
then opened a site promoting Spysheriff, PS Guard etc..,
I got a reply from MS saying it would be passed to the
legal team and its good to see they are not using the MS
theme now so its one less scum site to worry about :)

Andy

Thanks for doing that. If I'm not mistaken, these folks are related to the
Spy Sherriff folks--so they are still up to their old tricks. I got a
similar reply, and I'm reasonably sure that MS Legal works pretty hard at
this kind of issue.
