WRITING IN UPPERCASE IS CONSIDERED *RUDE*

Re-read the URL that I originally posted.
It may be scam, not spread by me!

No it isn't, in Usenet Netiquette it's termed as SHOUTING. Depending upon
the content, SHOUTING is not necessarily considered *rude*. For example,
loud encouragement in the form of cheers from spectators/other posters would
not normally considered as *rude*. Where upon if one used loud insulting,
foul or abusive language that would be considered as *RUDE SHOUTING*. I
personally noted nothing in "lowercase floppy man's" post as actually rude
but rather more leaning towards taking the urine and attempting to wind you
up whilst SHOUTING.

GEDIT?

Le bon jour a' vous le Monsieur Knobloch.

typing in caps is shouting and rude and my ears do not need to hear loud
noises nor does it have to see anything rude

Thanx Randy...I'm getting very leary about some of these e card places. I
have gotten that kitty pic a few times, but not in an e card. I wish they had
a list of the better places to use. So far I use Yahoo, American greeting and
Riversong.

Be great if people had better things to do then mess up innocent sites and
screw up our computers. Must be nice to have so much free time on their hands.

Enjoy the weekend......:-)

Many thanks for the support, Robin!
Though, *Trolls* don't need to be "feeded".

JJ - American Greetings is one of largest offenders of Spam!
I was forced to send them an opt-out email for a customer since after
registering with this company - they spammed her to death, yikes.
I don't use Yahoo for anything, if you choose to do so, block all cookies.
Yahoo has an opt-out policy which last about on Browser session :(

Agreed, JJ - use a HOSTS file: (http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm)
_Please read //all// the FAQ *prior* to using_
Enjoy the weekend......:-)
You too :-)

Your kidding? Hhmmmm, I think Yahoo also has alot of their cards from AG as
well. Thanx for the heads up on that, and yes, I do get ALOT of spam even
though I haven't been sending cards lately. Guess once they get you, they
keep you.

Oh well, live and learn, and yup, I'll do the blocking if I do use it. My
server last year merged with Yahoo, and oh brother, you can't believe the
spam I was getting. Since they dropped them, I get less, but still too
stinking much. Think I will stick with Riversong, they have nicer cards
anyway. LOL Thanx again!!!

Randy...Did you want me to type in 127.0.0.1 ad.doubleclick.net into my
restricted sites? I went to IE and typed it in, and now I have a bunch of
sites in the restricted area. Hope I did it right.

Thanx...JJ LMK if I messed up. :-)

You may have, JJ - read the HOSTS file FAQ, please.
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hostsfaq.htm
The HOSTS file once extracted to the correct Windows Explorer directory, will
work alone, without any requirement for user intervention
Assuming your running Windows XP, don;t forget to disable your DNS Client!

A bit of chore but it works very well.

Hmmm, I posted to you but guess it didn't go. I just checked the addys in
there, and they are the same ones I had before and I see noentry of the addy
I typed in.

I re read the instructions, and I guess I am suppose to download a host
file, which I didn't do. That is what I get for reading too fast. Checked all
my settings and everything is the way it was, so I am assuming I didn't
change a darn thing. Oh well, next time I will read more carefully, instead
of ASSUMING I know what I am doing. LOL Some days I have to admit, my brain
seems to suffer from "brain fog", and guess today is one of them. I
bookmarked the site and will read it more closely later when I am not in a
hurry.

Again, thank you for the help, and I'll let you know how I make out with the
host file thing. Hopefully this posts this time. Enjoy, and TTYL. JJ :-)

Well I read it over tonight and now figured out what I have to do to use it.
What I did had no bearing on it at all, but at least I didn't mess anything
up.

As soon as I have some extra time I can do it, but at present, it isn't any
emergency. At least my popups are blocked, my AVG is doing it's job as well
as my Spywareblaster, so things are pretty smooth. My nephew also installed a
registry cleaner on my machine, and that shows things are clean as well.
Amazing some of the stuff you have to install just to keep the ole "bugs" out.

Thanks again for the help, always appreciated. :-)

JJ, there's a very simple way of installing the MVPS Hosts file and keeping
it up to date, by means of a little free program called HostsMan. It was
recommended to me by Dave M and Stu, and I really wouldn't be without it now.

You can get it here:
http://www.abelhadigital.com/

It will take all the hassle out of fiddling with the Hosts file.

That you Allen. As soon as I get some free time, whatever that is lately, I
will look into it. Really appreciate all the help from you and Randy.

Hope everyone had a great weekend, was mighty busy here, but nice. :-)
