Here is my problem, I just got my first SATA drive, my Bios picked up the drive right away when I installed it, and windows has no problems seeing it, it accepts a primary partition just fine, but when I go to format it, it gets to 100% then gives me the error "Windows is unable to complete the format" I have been searching the net for 2 days finding a few posts anout this problem, but all I find as soloutions are things I have tried like changing the cables, trying a different SATA connector on my motherboard, and with all my searching I have yet to find a solution to this problem and I am starting to get frustrated cause I know that a solution is out there and I just cannot find it. I am hoping that someone has a solution for me.

Using the XP CD just do a 'quick' format using NTFS ... disconnect any other HDs.

:)

Well I finally decided to see if it was potentially my motherboard, so I popped it into a friends machine and low and behold it formatted.... (guess I am going to be in the market for a new mobo)
