new samsung hard drive

hi need help please i am adding a samsung 120gb hard drive to my computer once i have it conected it is seen in device manager but not in my computer can anyone give me info how to format it and get it up on my computer i am useing windows xp
 
Hi,

Have you created at least one partition on it yet? Until you do, it will not
be seen in "My Computer". Start/run diskmgmt.msc, right-click the free space
on the new drive to start.
