I was simply directing users to an MS-MVP written URL that helps users fix this particular
Rogue.
I take absolutely no responsibility in it's content or outcome.
XoftSpy Se is not mentioned in the URL, *that I can see...*
Also, these sorts of recommendations have nothing to do with Microsoft.

I think it is wise to ignore everything from idiots like Randy Knobloch aka
Randy bonkers Pervert. He is a known peddler of geeting cards scam and links
to porn sites. He is expecting to be make MVP to denote Most Valuable
Pervert!!

I have ignored everthing from bonkers.

Jim - nobody here is going to refer you to a product you must pay for to get
results unless there is no alternative.

In this case, perhaps you were mislead by the ads at the top of the forum
pages at Randy's link--but if you read down the complete page, there are
clear instructions for removing this malware without paying for anything
new--and that is what Randy was intending to cite.

These forums are freely available to anyone in the world with access to the
Internet. The advice posted here is posted by volunteers, and Microsoft is
not involved. That said, I think the advice posted was quite appropriate,
but I sure wish that site didn't have those ads at the top.

lilbreez;

Did you also follow this advice at the end of those linked instructions on
BleepingComputer?

"If you are still having problems with your computer after completing these
instructions, then please follow the steps outlined in the topic linked
below:"

Preparation Guide For Use Before Posting A Hijackthis Log -
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic34773.html

You could also try a scan with SuperAntispyware which had an update for
MalwareCrush as recently as 02/12/08
http://www.superantispyware.com/
The somewhat aged instructions on BleepingComputer are dated 12/28/07, as
is Randy Knobloch's post above.

Googling will give you MalwareCrush(dot)com, though I think you'd be better
off NOT going to a site that infected you in the first place like this
Rogue just did.

I am not surprised because Randy Bonkers never gives a correct, workable
solutions to any of the Microsoft Products. However, if you ask him anything
about pornogaphic websites, you should expect a reasonably working link for
that!! Ignore his posts completely.

If you want a correct solution to your problem, then I suggest post it here:

http://www.microsoft.com/communitie...&pt=&catlist=&dglist=&ptlist=&exp=&sloc=en-us

news://microsoft.public.windowsxp.general

Hope this helps.
