Hi there.

I am using Microsoft Access from Office XP. We run "alphabetical by client"
reports from our database. The last time we ran the report was last
November. When we try to run a current report, it only includes the data
from the last report, without all of the updates we've done to the database
since November.

Any ideas?

What is the criteria in the query upon which the report is based? Sounds
like it is limiting the data somehow.

Get into design-view, double-click the black square in the upper left corner
of the screen (just below your menu bars), look at the data source.

I went to Design view and Properties. The data source says "Alphabetical By
Client Query." Does this mean I simply need to run a new query to update the
contents of this report? Or is it more complex?

You need to look at that query. While viewing the properties, you can click
on the elipse button [...] to the right of the query name, or you can go to
your database window and open that query in desgin view.

In that query, there must be some criteria stating to only pull records for
a particular date range.

If there is not, go back to your report design view and open up the
properties again. Look at the filter to see if the records are being
filtered.

Rick,

I appreciate your help. I found that there were no date ranges in my query
under any tab, and that in the design view properties filters are all set to
"No."

When you run the query do you get the results you expect?

Well I just found something interesting.

I took over for a guy who was running this database. He ran the last report
like this during November of last year. The report was 119 pages long. The
report I run comes to 34 pages. I just found his backup up folder which
includes our database from November.

When I run this report from the backup mdb, it again comes to 119 pages, but
none of the new clients or data has been entered in to this database. I'd
like to try importing the new data into the backup file. I hope I'm not
confusing you or making this too complex.

I admit that my understanding of Access is quite minimal. Thank you for your
patience.
