New Registry KB and tool

I have noticed that Microsoft Download page for ChkReg.exe
links to the download page for the original version of
Windows XP Setup Disks for Floppy Boot Install, whereas
the Install.cmd included in the ChkREg.exe download calls
for Windows XP SP1 Setup Disk #6.

The correct URL for Windows XP Professional with Service
Pack 1 Utility Setup Disks is:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/release.asp?
releaseid=42819

I hope this will be soon corrected by Microsoft.

Dave,

OK, so far so good, but once you are in the Windows 2000
Registry Repair Utility page, follow the Instructions:
"Before you download this tool, you will need to download
the Windows XP Professional Setup Boot Disks:
_Windows_XP_Professional_Utility:_Setup_Disks_for_Floppy_Bo
ot_Install_".
That underlined link leads you to Windows XP Professional
Utility: Setup Disks for Floppy Boot Install page dated
10/24/2001.
However, the disks you need (as called for by the
Install.cmd included in the ChkREg.exe download) are
available for download in the Windows XP Professional with
Service Pack 1 Utility: Setup Disks for Floppy Boot
Install page dated 9/9/2002.
the link to the correct page is
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/release.asp?
releaseid=42819

OK ... I'm with you now. I hadn't tried this yet. I'll see what I can find
out though it may take awhile.
