I finally bought a new mouse, or shall I say R.A.T.

I have had it with Logitech, and anyway, it didn't manage to pass through the brick wall I throed it at.

This thing is gonna take a little getting used to, first impressions are, it's really good.

I like it. I like the software. I like the feel.

Is very wide though, not quite what I'm used to. I'm sure I'll soon get to "grips" with that. :D

oh, and there is a GW2 profile, if I can get to open the .pr0 file ... ah, got it. :)

excuse me while I go kill something.

Hope you like it Mucks, Must admit i tried a friends R.A.T 5 and thought it was awful....

If it were me i'd rather get a Razer Deathadder, Steelseries Sensei or Zowie EC2, Even the Roccat Kone v2. But thats my opinion. :)

We need linkies please Mr. Mucks, which one did you get..? :)
This One

Been using it now in-THE-game, and it's a dream.

I been playing with the programmable buttons. They are something I've not really had in a mouse before, but boy, are these an asset.

just under £45 from Curry's :)

Yep, me like it a lot!

oh, it's coffee break time, is why I'm here, not there ...

Very nice Mr Mucks, wot an odd looking device. I like the sound of that precision aim facility - any good?

Whatever works for you, especially if it suits GW2, I'd love to try one.

I'm still using my years-old pair of Logi G500's, one 1st Gen and the other 2nd Gen, can't fault 'em.

Only bad Logi I ever had was their cordless laser one, the model name escapes me, but I had TWO of those die on me, one under warranty, the other not. They didn't make anything similar for a coupla years after that episode, I noted.

Enjoy your new toy sir

I was going to get a 'G' Logitech, need the 'ergonomic' hand grip that the Logi's seem to do so well, peering online didn't leave me with much choice to an alternative.

Was only when I was at the shop and found they didn't have any G meeces at all, only the crappy wireless things, that I had a look at what they did have. Needed a mouse, old one was still embedded in the wall. :)

Took me a wee while to decide but glad I did.

Not used the "shooter" button, no need in GW, has promise tho', I'm not a FPS gamer, I'm too slow.

It has the same rubbery (but not rubber if you know what I mean) which is also perfect for my hand. Already gotten used to the extra width, really not noticed it. One thing that does stand out, the precision is top notch. :thumb:

I like the weight, using 3 of the supplied 5, couldn't tell you what that equates to, just feels good. Love the wheel, the Logi was plastic-y, this is really a nice feel & movement is great.

Yeah, I do like this RAT, even the fugly-ness is growing on me.

Time for tea ..............

G7. :)

I had one too, and the wheel or left click died on mine.

Enjoy your new mouse Mucks. :)

a wee update to this thread ...

some of you are aware that this RAT started to malfunction, the left mouse, oh err, RAT button started to double-click and I've only had it since november, that really peeved me off as it's the same problem I kept getting on the Logitech meeces.

So, I went and bought meself a G500 from Amazon last week, I didn't attempt to see if the RAT could wave-jump through the brick wall. No, I had intentions to take it back to Curries/PCWorld.

Now this G500 is very well behaved, but, there's always a but inthere, I just cannot adapt to it ... bear in mind I've always had the "ergonomic" Logitech meeces ... it just didn't feel right, the wheel on the RAT is far superior to any mouse I've ever had.

I have big problems with my hands these day, another story, and I had found the RAT to be all but perfect. So, today I had the opportunity to go back to Curries/PCWord to see about the warranty.

Well knock me down with a feather ... I got me a NEW RAT, new warranty with no fuss whatsoever. I can have my cake and eat it.

Curries/PCWorld Southport, I take my hat off the the young, attractive lady practicing for The Voice, and I sincerely thank you for making my day a very pleasant one.

Folks, if you are looking for a very good alternative to Logitech's gaming mouse, look no further than the RAT5 ... do me, and yourself, a favour tho', buy it from a shop, like what I did, and KEEP the receipt, like what I did.

I is a happy chappie. :)

Good stuff Muck's

You can't really beat a bricks and mortar shop nowadays for customer service, you can see who your speaking too and they are accountable because you are right in front of them!

Well that's a piece of very good news Mucks. Very glad Curry's replaced your RAT without hassle. Hope the new one will give you long and trouble-free service. :thumb:

aye, I am a happy chappie ... I didn't think the RAT would be any good, but I'm pleased I was proven wrong ... I do hope, however, the old one was 'defective' to begin with and this one doesn't fail after 12 months, or before.

I did notice this one has a slight difference in the packaging, wasn't hard to miss actually ... there is no separate container, as the original had, for any unused weights. I made sure I returned the old one as was packed. I looked through the box of the new one looking for this container only to find all the weights already fitted to the mouse.

Still, I'm happy with Curries/PCWorld's 'customer' service. :)
