New Profile to see contacts?

contacts confused

I have read I need to create a new profile from scratch (I used WET to
transfer to 2007 and I can't get my outlook addresses to be part of my
address book). Is this new profile in outlook? in the computer? new e-mail
setting? What do you mean? Also, do I need do completely retype my
contacts?
