It works fine now but the PC feels a bit sluggish like its lagging a
bit especially when accessing the hard drive. Feels like DMA isnt on.

I checked a setting on the Promise Maxtor controller tab in Device
Manager about windows flushing the cache commands. Theysay turning
this off improves performance. It did but it still feels a bit funny.

I might try sticking the card in another slot.

The Promise cards emulate SCSI, DMA is always on.

I thought so.
Now I have to figure out another reason why it might be sluggish.
I should just go out and buy SATA adaptors for my IDE HDs.
