Sorry left off the pic link...

Just bought a new PSU for my AMD K-7 950. I posted here about it a bit ago.
Well, I opened it up and looked at it. The fan is built inside the PSU case
and the ventilation holes are on the top of the unit (picture below) and
then there are about 10 more on the wire side (you can't see it in the pic).
What I'm asking is, the holes on the top, they are going to be facing the
top of my tower, they won't be out in the open, is that bad? My old PSU had
the fan on the outside attached under the PSU case and didn't have the holes
on the top, they were all on the wire side and on/off side so it was venting
directly into the PC, not the case top wall...If that is a problem would
installing this PSU upside down fix it maybe?

I know next to nothing about PSU so if this is a really dumbass question
sorry...I just don't want the air to go the wrong way or bounce back in and
have the thing overheat or something...

Actually I'm throwing this into a Gateway case with a clip that holds it, it
doesn't screw in anywhere. I put it in with the vent down. So that is
right-side-up? Sorry for the question then, I looked at the one I pulled
out and it was installed with the plug slot up, not down like this one, I
guess my original one was upside down...I dunno.

Thanks again,

Not necessarily. There is no orientation in the power cord plug in
slot. The only orientation that matters is getting correct air flow ...
on some of my computers the "V" part of the cable is down and in some of
them it's up. That's not what's significant.

Yeah, what he said. Don't confuse yourself anymore by worrying about which
way up the cord goes!

Yeah, hehe, as I said I know nothing about PSU's, was just kinda looking at
how it was and wanting to put it back in that way. Guess there's the
downside of self-teaching :)

Thanks again guys,
