New Posts not loading

Just to let you know Ian...

When I visited the Home Page this morning (at eleven-ish) I opened some tabs (in FF) to view Stats, New Forum Posts, (of which there were said to be 91)... etc. The Stats came up okay, but the tab for New Posts was blank - except for a message saying "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms."

When I clicked the New Posts link again, a page came up with just three posts shown. I used the back-button and tried again but got the original "Sorry - no matches...etc."

Just thought you might need to know Ian. Not complaining, you understand, but I remember reading that you were probably going to be doing some maintenance during the early hours, so possibly you already know about this

I sometimes get that, and I think I know why it might be - if I open up two versions of IE when I start my computer (i.e. one for PCR and another to google), it loads the PC Review homepage twice. Both will say x new posts. However, it takes the 2nd load of PC Review as a new visit and resets the cookie timer for the new posts counter.

It doesn't sound like it applied in your case, although I think it is something to do with this cookie timing. I'm not entirely sure how I could get round this, as it's build in to vBulletin like this. I'll have a think and see if it's something that can be done though

What I could suggest if this happens again in the mean time is to click the "Todays Posts" button on the Forum > Forums menu at the top as that will always show the most recent list of posts

Don't worry TC, I know stuff in the feedback forum isn't complaining - I'm glad that people post it here so I can fix it :nod:

Ian - I am blushing - and chuckling too, because until now, (reading your post,) I hadn't noticed the New Posts link on the Forums menu (even though I use that menu to get to the main index, daily :eek:

) .... oh dear :lol:

there is just no hope for some of us ------> TC <------ :rolleyes:
