Hi ..... I'm new here and I'm seeking advice on a new PC as I'm now boggled to say the least.
Got me a top end spec, don't want to/can't build my own. Chose a best buy outfit from the mags then read the threads, and guess what you don't care much for my choice of MESH!! So what next?? Seems EVESHAM and CARRERA both are bad-mouthed .....so any advice guys??

Welcome to the site :)

What sort of PC are you after? The best money can buy for games, a reasonable all-rounder or a basic budget system?

PC Spec

Thanks Ian.
I'm looking at a high end spec in the order of:
AMD Athalon X2 4800+
1Gb RAM
300 ++ GB fast Memory - NOT RAID!!
Twin DVD drives - burner+DVD ROM
nVidia 7800 GTX
19/20" TFT - Viewsonic
etc. etc.

The Mesh Matrix Xtreme Pro seemed to fit the bill perfectly but having read many screeming reports on the shoddy build quality poor service and back up (WHAT SERVICE many have said!), it left me wondering where too now??

This at Overclockers, but it very pricey, I would never pay that much for a machine.

"Ultima Extreme SLi" AMD Athlon X2 4800 Dual Core DDR System (FS-008-OK)
If you are looking for the ultimate AMD box then look no further than the Ultima Extreme SLi AMD Athlon X2 4800. Supplied pre-built it has an impressive specification to say the least :-

- AMD Athlon X2 4800 Dual Core San Diego (Socket 939) Dual DDR400 CPU
- ThermalRight XP-120 with 120mm fan Heatsink Cooling Solution
- Asus A8N-SLi Premium nForce4 SLi Dual Channel PCI-Express Motherboard

- 2 x 250GB Western Digital 16mb cache SATA-2 Hard Drive (RAID 0 Configured)
- 2 x XFX Extreme Edition GeForce 7800 GTX 256MB DDR3 PCI-Express Graphics Cards (SLi Configured)

- Metal Braided SATA Cable
- Windows XP Professional pre-installed with License and CD supplied

Note - All Ultima systems are built and installed on demand, during busy periods this may cause a delay of between 24 and 48 hours in despatching your order. The Ultima can be supplied assembled with or without your choice of installed operating system but is supplied without keyboard, mouse, speakers or monitor (all of which are available elsewhere in this on-line store). The prices listed below are in addition to the system price.

Price: £2,249.00 (£2,642.57 Including VAT at 17.5%)

I wouldn't really know where to go to buy a tailor made system, sorry.

Ultima System

Ta floppy....lovely spec but as you mention pricey indeed.
Well worth investigating further though MANY THANKS!! :thumb:

You guys really rock .

Using the info you've given me from some of my previous threads and the link to pcspecialists I managed to configure a set up that I think would be just fine and danndy . Trouble is it comes in at £511 which is twice my original spend budget Could knock £50 quid of that if I used the lowest graphics card though . Just can't see a way at the moment to raise the cash but it's certainly given me something to think about . :-)

Windsor - places like Overclock are great... they know what they are doing and you know what you are getting.

That spec Flops posted is A W E S O M E

Check out alienware if you want to spend some serious money...
