ok i asked this before but it wasn't very clear, so here goes.

just got a new pc running xp home installed.

when i go to a certain page ie www.marbles.com it opens as usual but when i
try to access my account page nothing happens. if i hover over the other
links a detailed description shows on the task bar bottom left of screen,
but if i hover over the my account link this appears.

javascript:go('serv')

on my last pc i remember i could diabable the java in internet
options/advanced and use vm but this is not on this pc.

hope this makes sense and someone can help.

thanks

no did that

in fact i just finished resetting every setting that my old pc had.

i can hover over every link and see the adress at bottom, but the my
account one is the one with the problem. btw i am able to access any other
web page with no problem.

thanks for your input

Javascript has nothing to do with Java.

I suspect this has little to do with the state of your scripting at all
and more to do with the fact that that link produces a popup window.

For example, by activating my XPsp2 popup blocking and setting
it at High (block all popups) I was able to get a Pop-up blocked...
message in the Info bar when I tried to use that link.

If you have as well all notifications suppressed
(e.g. play a sound... and show Information Bar... both unchecked)
then you would be oblivious to the fact that the popup was blocked
and thus reproduce your symptom.

Hmm... not totally oblivious perhaps. If you hover your pointer
over the popup blocker status indicator in the Status bar
you would then see the tooltip "Popups were blocked". <w>

BTW thank you for posting the link needed for this example.
I'm not sure that I would have thought of all this without it.

thanks
