Hi:

I'm building my first PC and I've just ordered what I think is a great
system for around $1000.

If anyone has any feedback on the components I've selected or any
suggestions could you please let me know. I am also wondering if there is
anything I'm missing.

Thanks so much.

Hi,

Well without critquing the hardware I was wondering how you intended to
install the operating system, because both a CD-ROM (or burner) and a floppy
drive (optional) are missing from your list.

If in fact it is a whoops then consider a standard DVD-ROM drive, and
something that does DVD burning, which will also do standard CDR/RWs as
well. I would suggest a DVD burner that does both + and - media. Pioneer and
Sony seem to be the current favorites.

Yes - I forgot to mention I have a TDK CD-RW that I will be using in
this system. What do you think of the components?

Thanks for the recommendations on the DVD-RW

Personally I would have gone with AMD and NForce2, but what you have will be
fine. The AMD would have been faster and cheaper though..

I see nothing wrong with the bits and bobs here.

Personal taste, but i am more partial to Plextor products. Their new DVD
burner has support for 8x DVD+R.

But i agree that Pioneer and Sony are also very solid products.
