If I build a new pc, can i use three hard drives from my old system
which do not contain the operating system? I want to use a new drive
to install XP Pro on. Will XP recognize the other drives?

If the new computer's motherboard (or an add-on expansion card) has the
appropriate connections and controller(s), certainly.

If the computer's BIOS can be made to recognize the drives, WinXP can
also do so.
