Hi,
I just purchased this mb and I attached 2 Silencer 80mm fans from
pcpowerandcooling to the connectors on the mb. But the BIOS and Asus'
PC Probe tells me there is nothing installed. Bios is telling me N/A
on both fans. However, CPU fan is registering ok at 2700 rpm's.
Any ideas?

thanks
Tom

How many wires are there on each fan? If the fan has only two wires,
then all it gets is power, and there is no wire to give back an
RPM signal. If the fan has three wires coming from the hub, then
the third wire is the RPM signal. (Another reason for the fan
speed not to register, is if the RPMs are too low - the BIOS
assigns zero to the display when this happens.)

Thanks. I think you answered it. The fans only have 2 wires. one black
