New Outlook Connector vs. Previous Connector ?

I noticed Microsoft recently released Microsoft Office Outlook Connector.
I have been reading my msn.com email in Outlook for many years. Should I
download and install this over my existing setup, what are the differences?

For me the difference is it actually works. I couldn't get the previous
version to work, but as far as I can tell the functionality is the same.

Can someone post the versionsnumber from this 3.0 version here?
My version number is 12.0.4518.1047 AND from the help:
"Office Outlook Connector is available, you will be prompted to upgrade
and download the new release. "
No prompt until yet...
