New Nvidia Drivers

NVIDIA stressed in an interview last week that QUALITY would be the main
issue of the next driver release not performance. I am using MS Vista and I
did see a framerate increase in 3D Mark 2006 which is a static benchmark
test. However, I have seen some issues I had disappear with this release.

LOL. Can we get, uh.....both?? My video card is 100% paid for, no
reason for it to run at 20% of its potential...

When you say NEW DRIVER, specify that they are BETA drivers, it make a big
difference whether it's a BETA or a non-BETA

Well, under XP SLI works although the performance increase is certainly
NOT worth the price of the second card, and it worked with 64 Bit Vista
and the previous Beta driver but with this new one theres no output from
either card at all in SLI mode. It works alright in non SLI and I think
I will just get another MB and CPU and build another machine with this
second waste of space :)

The 158.18s are New released drivers. Not betas

Martin,
The driver is indeed a beta driver and it is clearly labeled as such on the
Nvidia site, but as such, it remains a new driver. At this point in time I
would be less concerned about WHQL or beta designations than functionality.

I installed the new drivers (this new driver is the 1st 1 to actually work)
but I have a 19" lcd monitor that has a max res of 1280 x 1024 but after
installing the new drivers it won't let me go past 1024 x 768. I have found
that the problem is not with my monitor but I'm thinking it's still the
drivers because like i said before, this is the 1st driver to actually work.
All previous releases, including beta drivers have not worked. Any ideas or
should I wait for new drivers and try them out?

I'm not sure why you can't set 1280x1024 but you might find a solution

Dale;
Yes, they are Beta as somewhat clearly written on the page.
5th line from the top "Beta Driver"

Yes, my bad. I don't know how I kept missing that. I kept lookign when
peopel said it was Beta, ut I kept going to the beta section and seeing the
101.40s.

I think they should have written Beta in Red for people like me who can't
see the obvious.

I agree.
It is somewhat clear as I stated but the word "Beta" should be more
prominent.
In red as you suggest would help.
While Beta is acceptable for some, it is unacceptable for others.

Well....

I tried to install these drivers, Forceware 158.18. But the installer tells
me I don't have Vista 32-bit.
I keep double checking my system specs to make sure it says 32-bit on it.

I don't know what is up, I sent nVidia two notifications through the Vista
Quality Assurance on nVidia's site.
I have recieved no word wait.

Do you have a dual or single config. They were suppose to have fixed this
issue with the 158.18s

Resolved Single-GPU Issues

All GPUs

.. Oblivion-there is corruption on glowing weapons when HDR is

enabled along with antialiasing. [303289]

.. "This is not Vista" error message appears when installing Windows

Vista 32-bit drivers on a Windows Vista 64-bit operating system.

The error message did not indicate which operating system (32-bit or 64-bit)
is

installed. NVIDIA has fixed the installer error message to better tell the
end user

which version of Windows Vista drivers and operating system are running.

Also, the 158.24 drivers are out

omg,
I am still recieving the Not-32 Vista error message. With the newly
released, 158.24.

I do not get what is going on with my system. I KNOW I have Vista 32-bit.
But the message persists.

Still any thoughts?
