New Nvidia Beta Drivers.

Been running the new 162.15 Beta Drivers from here this evening, and they have made a nice difference. Stalker, TDU (My two 'most played' atm) have seen a decent performance increase. Along with a boost in 3DMark06 score. Am just a shade off 10k now, still with stock CPU speeds. (Linky)

Was previously running the latest non beta 158.22 drivers. Have tried the 160.02 Quatro drivers that are supposed to be good for gaming, but they didn't work quite right on my rig. Was fine until i adjusted the colour/brightness in the control panel. Then it went a bit funny....

The only issue i had with the 158.22 drivers was when i forced 16xAA in the control panel for TDU it would crash the control panel when i tried to go and change the settings for TDU again. The new 162.15's has fixed this and now can change the settings until my hearts content.

Just for refference am running TDU at max settings with HDR, 16xAA and 4xAF at 1280x1024 at 50-60 FPS
and Stalker at max settings at 1280x1024, full dynamic lighting and the Float32 mod at about 40-90FPS depending on what s going on at the time. But Stalkers frame rate is erratic at best!

Anyway, enough rambleing, In short give em a go, you may be plesently supprised.

Just a little update for those who didn't/haven't seen my post in the Stalker thread....

So, i've been playing Stalker again tonight, these drivers have definitely helped with this buggy game. frame rates gone up and it generally plays better now.

I finally got round to watching the last couple of episodes of Heroes on my TV from the pc tonight too, and i can see a slight improvement in that over the older 158.22 drivers, so i really cant complain about these new beta drivers at all.
