Really screwy results. Im going to reinstall WIN XP.
Ive read the other posts so Im not sure whats causing it. Others seem
to have no problems though they dont mention CDRW burner or DVD
burners.

Cant burn anything - NERO hangs at around 7% or so.

Try re-installing Nero first. On my P4PE the nVidia drivers
fixed my problems with Nero 6 burning CDs and DVDs.

Several of us have mentioned CDR issues.

Reinstalling XP is overkill, just uninstall the 3.13 drivers, reboot,
then go back to 2.45 or install 3.13 without the IDE drivers.

? P4PE<->Nforce ?

Did I miss something?

Yeah I ended up just uninstalling the drivers and then re-installing
NERO.

For some reason NERO still wouldnt work even after uninstalling the
drivers. Maybe the drivers corrupted HD data when I was using it.

I was paranoid because weird errors started cropping up on my HD .
Everything at least seems OK now.

Yeah it worked 3.13 w/o IDE - uninstall then reinstall w/o IDE and
then reinstall NERO.

All the threads I read made it seem like it was working great.
I havent had such major problems like since my older motherboard
melted down and I had to RMA it.

Nero and the Nvidia IDE drivers do not seem to get on (and never have
AFAIK). The Nvidia IDE drivers pretend to be SCSI, and Nero doesn't handle it.

The simple solution is when installing the Nvidia drivers is to answer "no"
when prompted whether you want to install the Nvidia IDE drivers, which
will then default back to using the standard Microsoft IDE drivers.

Works here:
A7N8X Deluxe
nForce 3.13 with SW IDE DRivers
Nero6
Sony CRX100E in MWDMA 2 (I think)

Im using the A7n8x Deluxe 2.0 with the 1007 bios
How weird. Im going to test it out with a clean install of WIN XP
which I should do anyway after I clean up my HD.

I'm using Nero 6 on my system. I've installed the unified drivers
ver. 3.13 WITH the IDE drivers and Nero continues to work fine. The
story is the same when I updated to the 2/45 drivers with the nVidia
IDE drivers prior to updating to 3.13. My problem is that my
preferred burning program, NTI CD-Maker 6, will not recognize my two
CD-RWs with the nVidia IDE drivers installed. I'm going to go back to
using the Windows IDE drivers.

You may want to check the transfer mode (or change it to non-UDMA and see if
that helps.)

I'm using Uber 1007, so no real change there either - it's only the transfer
mode or the drive thats different.

Nero works fine here along with 3.13 IDE-driver, but I did have another cd
bug. My DVD (LiteOn 16x DVD) would read the dir of the first CD or DVD
insterted, but when I swap to another CD or DVD, all I could see was still
the dir of the first CD!! Makes it quite difficult installing a game on more
than 1 CD :o).
If I did the same in my CD-burner, there was no problem, but as I could not
find a solution to my DVD, I just reverted back to MS IDE-driver.
The GART from 3.13 made my PC slower, so this is also back to the one from
ASUS-pack. As I could not see any improvement with memorycontroller from the
ASUS-version, I uninstalled everything from 3.13 again, and I'm now back
with ASUS driver-pack.
