new network with xp home and win 98 comps

i got a new comp with xp i have a linksys network
everywhee 5 port hub and i installed a ethernet card in
my 98 machine . i am running regular dial up internet.
when i used the wizard to make the network it had me
make a disk for the 98 i followed the instructions and
ran wizard on 98 machine after finishing on xp. the
network showed the xp machine but not the 98. i have
tried every thing that i could find help from xp's help
files and online . any help would be appreciated thanks

1. Permanently disable XP's built-in Internet Connection Firewall on
local area network connections -- it's for use only on a direct modem
connection to the Internet. Disable and un-install all other
firewalls while troubleshooting. Details here:

2. Use only one protocol for File and Printer Sharing. If the network
needs more than one protocol, unbind File and Printer Sharing from all
but one of them. Details here:

3. Make sure that NetBIOS over TCP/IP is enabled on all computers.
