Chuck
I recently replaced all three PCs in my home network.
The original 3 PCs ran Win 98 and Win Me, but now all are
on Win XP... except for the PC which was originally
the "administration" PC, that is, the PC that I
originally used to establish the network. I still have
that one original PC connected to the network in order to
transfer files etc. On that PC I can see all the new PCs
and I have managed to configure the new PCs so that I can
share printers on the network, but the only place I
can "see" all the items attached to the network is on
that original "admin" PC which runs Windows 98.
Eventually, I will disconnect that PC, but I don't know
if that will affect how I administer the network. If I
can't see what's attached, I am not sure how I am going
to do it.
Here's my network configuration. DSL modem attached to a
wireless ZyAir firewall/router. Attached to the router
is a wired XP desktop(which I want to be the
new "admin"), a wired Win 98 machine(the 'admin'), a
wireless XP laptop, a wireless XP desktop, a wired print
server and a wireless print server.
Can you help me figure out how to get the new PC to be
the new "admin" so that I can see and access all the PCs
and printers on the network?
Thanks
