I replaced a failed motherboard in a WIN2K system, and
when trying to do the repair install, receive the message
that the NTLDR is missing on the reboot.

I have tried the suggestions with the exception of the
parallel install in the 318728 Knowledge base article, but
to no avail.

I've copied the NTLDR files manually, etc. Needs to be
resolved ASAP.

Thanks!

I even tried a parallel install on the same partition as
the previous install no luck. I'm going to try a new
motherboard. If that doesn't work a new hard drive.

W2k unlike previous systems is intimately bound to the present
mainboard when installed. If a new mainboard is not virtually identical
to the old, W2k simply rolls over & dies. MS and others offer
"shortcuts" to getting the old W2k up on the new board, but they're
arduous and iffy. MS even (I believe) recommends against trying. Better
to bite the bullet, save all the apps and data you can somewhere other
than the W2k partition, format that partition, and do a clean install.
You'll save time and frustration that way.
