I have purchased a new motherboard with upgraded CPU, new
DVD/CD Drive, new Video and Sound Card and existing Hard
Drive with the XP Home OS. After installing all the
components and during the Bootup process I receive the
following error message: "Disk Boot Failure, Insert
System Disk and press enter." I inserted my Windows XP
OS Disk and still get the error message. Any suggestions
would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If you've moved a disk with an existing XP installation into a new system
(with a mainboard that is different from the old one), you'll probably need
to do a repair installation. The various drivers from the original
installation may not work with the new board.

"How to Perform an In-Place Upgrade (Reinstallation) of Windows XP"

(In brief: change the BIOS settings to boot from the CD drive. Boot from the
XP CD. Choose to install rather than going to the repair console. Under
install, choose repair rather than new.)

The good news is that this ought to preserve most of your files, settings,
and installed applications.

The bad news is that you'll have to re-activate XP. (This isn't that bad;
the worst case is that you'll have to do it by telephone. Takes about 5
minutes.) You'll also lose everything installed via Windows Update.
