Hi all.
I have just bought a Gigabyte K8NNXP motherboard and am waiting for an
Athlon 64 3200+ processor to arrive. While I am waiting I have a question
regarding the order of the drivers to install under Win XP Pro.
Once XP is installed what order do I install the following drivers in:
Motherboard drivers (chipset, RAID controllers etc), AMD 64 Bit processor
drivers and Video card drivers (Nvidia)
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

New system will be:
Antec 550W True Control power supply
Gigabyte K8NNXP Socket 754
Athlon 64 6200+
128Mb Geforce 4 Ti 4600
Sound Blaster Live Value
2* WD Raptor 10,000 RPM in RAID 0

Permit me to be vague and somewhat guessing.
I suppose 'AMD64 processor drivers' is something that is used by
Windows to control speed and "power policy" of the processor.
Since it's not a laptop, I don't think you need this at all, and it
should be installed last, if at all. If you do indeed install this,
make sure your Windows XP pro is fully updated to latest
specifications. There seem to be some problems with this Windows
'feature' and all are not yet resolved.

Mobo drivers first, then video drivers. As I implied, I'm not on top
of these 'AMD64 drivers', but my suggestion is that you leave them for
now.

I just had another thought. Check what kind of cpu your WinXP is
reporting. If it's incorrect, or missing, you should probably install
the drivers.
