I installed a new motherboard and xp keeps rebooting on
motherboard in a PC and expect the existing operating
system and drivers to function. Motherboards differ
greatly in chipsets, I/O controllers, bus controllers.
As the other reply states, a clean install is your
best/only option. Do a clean install on a new disk drive,
and when everything is running, transfer documents and
data files.
If you have a lot of installed hardware, do setup with
the minimal number of add-in boards, bring the system up,
apply service packs and fixes, and install additional
hardware one by one.
Unfortunately, you cannot simply install a newstartup, how do I get xp to rebuild new drivers for the
new motherboard
