New Motherboard and Windows XP

I am considering upgrading my mobo in a few weeks and was
wondering....if I do this, what effect does this have on
my installed copy of XP Home...do I have to register
again etc...any help appreciated...new to this.

My trick is to always buy motherboards with the same chipset manufacturer. I
have switched between SIS 645, 645DX and 648 chipset motherboards and
everything worked great.

Thanks for the replies....well I am upgrading to a
different chipset...SiS to Intel...presumably from what I
read, that means a phone call to MS for activation...A
techie is putting the new board in for me, so presumably
I will have to give him the oem bootdisk as well as the
computer?

Be aware that your OEM version of XP may not install on the new motherboard.
Many OEM versions that came installed on the computer are BIOS locked to the
original motherboard and can't be transferred to another. You may have to
purchase a new copy of XP.
