Has anyone tried the Catalyst 5.4 / MMC 9.06.1 combination to see how well
they work? Specifically, reading their 1st and 3rd release notes:

1) "The channel change time has been improved when using the CATALYSTT 5.4
software driver in conjunction with the MMC 9.06.1 as compared to CATALYSTT
5.3 and MMC 9.06."

How "improved" is the channel change time?

3) "All audio options for the MULTIMEDIA CENTERT are now available for when
selecting Spain (PAL B/G) for the TV tuner."

It looks like only the Spanish TV tuner gives the ability to change audio
inputs? What's up with that? There are a lot of other broadcast standards
to consider.

Unless both those items are really fixed, I'm not going down that road.

I have a XP Pro with an AIW 9800 Pro on a 3.06GHz P4 with 533MHz FSB, 4GB
RAM. My channel change time went down from five seconds to three.

Guys,

MMC 9.06.1 is EXACTLY the same as 9.06 except for 2 changes.

1) We have improved channel change time.
2) We have fixed a downscale bug for transcoding HDTV.

Nothing else is different from 9.06, so don't look for more.

The WDM drivers that ATI is using for all recent AIW cards, the "NSP"
drivers use an MCE compatible video path that also requires a digital audio
path. There is no possibility of a switch to analog (pass through) audio
without also getting horrible AV sync issues, so we are not going back to
Analog Audio for MMC.
