Hey all!

Got a PCI ATI TV Wonder card. I've just installed the latest drivers for it
as well as MMC 8.8 that was just released.

It works pretty well with one exception... When I start the TV application,
I get an error that EasyLook won't work. Once I click OK on that error, the
player starts and I'm watching TV fine.

I'm using a Matrox G550 video card and I don't have the ATI remote control.

HOW do I turn EasyLook off? I can't find any mention of it anywhere.

Thanks!

Same. I installed Remote Wonder drivers and then turned everything off in
the MMC config applet. No more Easy Look error messages.

Tried this here and no luck... EazyLook still complains when I start the TV
app.

HOPEFULLY ATI will respond to my question... but I'm not holding my breath.

Go back to the config again and select : press Esc key in the keyboard and
Press any key on the keyboard and leave all other boxes nchecked then click
OK, start your TV press esc and then the space bar, and that should break
you out of Eazylook.

Here's ATI's answer to EazyLook issues...

Regarding your issue:

You are correct. There is no option to disable Easylook. We are aware that
Easylook cannot be disabled and is under investigation. Either uninstall the
8.8 and revert back to the cd drivers/software or keep clicking on the error
each time.

I'm not sure what they are talking about, aside from its glitchiness, you
are suppose to (by default) be able to simply hit Esc and disable it, but as
you've seen it doesn't happen as it should.

However I was able to get out of it by selecting both escape options instead
of one or the other; select both "press Esc key in the keyboard and Press
any key on the keyboard".

I selected these options while the TV was running simply by first pressing,
Ctrl, Esc to get around Eazylook then on to the ATI config App.

I unchecked everything on the Eazylook page, but those two options, I saved,
moved the jog on my controller and Eazylook went back up.
After that I hit the escape key and the spacebar and Eazylook went away and
is still gone.

This also seemed to cure the problem with the vanishing mouse pointer while
using Gemstar.

FOUND SOMETHING THAT FIXES IT

OKay for all you TV Wonder fans out there. I hopefully bring you
relief. I just downloaded and fumbled with ATI's new 8.8 MMC software,
with no avail. As posted in previous posts above, we all get a message
conveying that EASYLOOK can not load, due to out of date drivers. I
do like the new 8.8 ver. Looks great, other than this stupid issue.
Well enough jabber. I fought and fought, and this is what ive come up
with.

SOLUTOIN:
****************************************************************************
I removed the tenslib1.dll file from the \main directory. And tada.
No more bother me EASYLOOK, give me a bone message.

I played with removing each file from the \main dir, and the
tenslib1.dll file seems to fix the problem. Hey, im no techie wizard,
to honesty say what this DLL does...but IT SOLVED THE ISSUE, AMEN.
Best of luck to you too.

You all can give it a wurl, i tried MMC 8.8 and everything seems to be
in order and working great. I hope this does do the trick.

Yours truly,
Fixin' the pain,
hidden. :)

P.S. Leave a post if it works for you. And if anyone out there has a
solution to Gemstar and REMOTE WONDER v2 drivers, please post me. I
cant get them to work, still have to revert back to R.W.v1.4, Thanks.
All have a great day :)

Great, I confirm it works. Had same problem with TV Wonder VE and MMC
8.8, your trick of removing tenslib1.dll did the trick. Thanks!
