New Messenger? WTF's up MS?

Go online, start OE and Messenger starts (as per normal) which then pops up
the "New version ..." on taskbar at which time one clicks on the link which
throws up a dialog box asking "Yes/No" to install new Messenger with a
"What's New" button which when clicked takes you to Microsoft's general
search page.

Is that what's new?

Christ these idiots ever bother to test their own software before general
release?

Nice of you to report the problem. Too bad your attitude is a problem as
well. Having a bad day? Must have been a terrible inconvenience for you. I
hope you didn't have to actually find the Messenger web site yourself. When
most people find an issue with a web site or an application they try to
bring it to someone's attention to fix it. I suppose if you came home from
work and found your telephone line was dead you would call the phone company
from another line and say WTF you idiots? Or if you noticed someone's
headlight was out your would flip them off? That's what you've done here.

Grow up.

So what if my attitude is crap. Doesn't change the fact MS continually keep
screwing up and I certainly don't mind running down any company who puts
their bottom line first and their customers second. I'm still pissed over
the fact the US courts didn't tear the company apart as I certainly believe
they have and continue to deserve it.

To the point at hand ...not even checking a dialog button does what it says
demonstrates just how limited they test.

So how do I find What's New? I've learned from prior experiences that what
MS decides is new and improved can often not be in their customers best
interests, e.g. WMP and DMR.

Your statement is a cheap shot and you appear to be just another in a long
line of "everything MS is bad" Microsoft bashers. Windows Media Player 9
codecs and technologies are far superior to the 8 series and earlier codecs
and players. On a personal level DMR can used or not used when ripping your
own content if that is what is desired. On a larger scale, DMR is a
technology that content providers purchase and are demanding before they
will provide content. That's why buymusic.com requires the use of WMP9. DMR
isn't a Microsoft thing, it's a content provider industry demand. Do you
really think any record companies would be allowing their music to be sold
on Apple's iTunes or on buymusic.com or other similar sites without DMR in
place?
