I have a machine with Outlook 2000 and another with Outlook 2002.
Recently, I've noticed that some of the messages I now get have the FROM
name and the SUBJECT grey instead of the normal black. The message looks
normal when I open it appears to have been sent with normal importance.
Does anyone know why it shows up in grey????

Thanks.

While in the Inbox, right-click the column headers and select Customize
Current View, then click the Automatic Formatting button. See if there
are any AF rules set up to use a gray font color for messages that meet
certain criteria.

There is usually a rule in there by default for "expired items" that
will turn the text gray, but it will also put a strikethrough through
the text, and you didn't mention it was doing that. What criteria did
your rule have? I don't know how an automatic formatting rule would be
created unless you (or someone else who was using that .PST file)
created it. Of course, it's entirely possible there's a way to do it
that I don't know about :-)
