New message "zoomed" in

I use Outlook 2007. When I create a new message the text looks like I
have zoomed in; it is bigger than normal. When the message is
received, it is fine. I cannot find any adjustment to this. I don't
see a view>zoom option aywhere.
 
Look on the Format text tab or use your mouse wheel to zoom down as you
press Ctrl.
