I have just installed a new MB, ram and CPU and when the computer starts up it gets to a black screen telling me that the last time Windows started there was a problem and if I want to choose safe mode, last config, etc - any choice doesn't work - just goes back to this screen. Have tried to set the CD ROM as first priority startup with my copy of XP Professional (corporate) in it but the computer seems to ignore it. Any ideas?

Yep, it will do that if you have an illegal "corporate version"
of Windows XP....suggest you go out and purchase a conventional
"retail full version" and perform a "repair install".

There is no such thing as a 'corporate' version of XP Pro. This is the name
given to the pirated (stolen) Open or Volume licence version. Are you
admitting you're a pirate? If so, you'll receive no assistance here.
