New mail notification

I have become more adventurous in my email setup, as a consequence,
not much mail goes to my default inbox. I found the 'new mail'
notification very handy. I am disappointed that I cannot see a way to
set it so that it notifies me if any folder gets new mail.

Is there anyway to set this up? I don't mind modifying the registry
directly if necessary.

You can set this up with a rule. Create your rule that it plays the
NOTIFY.WAV sound, and displays a desktop alert for the specific folder that
you want. I did this and it works great !

Thanks for the tip. However, not been too keen on sound notifications
(they make me jump), I found some freeware which does the job;
"Advanced Folders watch".

Is that a design feature or a bug? In Outlook 2003, New Mail Notification,
both sounds and envelopes displayed in the Notification Area, works when
mail is sent to a folder other than the Inbox via a Message Rule.

Have there been any updates in this area. Any other freeware or workarounds?
Ive just stalled Outlook 07 and need my envelope notification for my inbox
subfolders!
