Hi,

I've set up a number of rules to deal with spam coming in. They're proving
reasonably successful. However, what I would like to do is if the message
comes in and is picked up by one of my spam rules, I do not want the "New
mail" icon that appears in the tray to appear.

Is there any way to do this:
1) Check mail when it arrives;
2) <INSERT SPAM FILTER>
3) Yes its spma: Do not bring up the new mail icon

??

I tried the "Clear Message Flag" option but that didn't help.

Thanks in advance,
Alain

Thanks. I've had quite a good look at that. I installed the AutoRead
application and it works (or at least one test did). I have some questions,
though, if you don't mind.

How did this get installe as a "Custom Action"?

I looked in the registry and found this entry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Exchange\Client\Custom Actions]
"AutoRead"="4.0;C:\\Program Files\\TechHit.com\\AutoRead\\autoread.dll;1"

which I presume was how it was done. Right?

What language can the DLL be written in? Is it a VB DLL?
Was the code that you pointed me at (and in the downloadable .TXT file) the
same code that runs in the AutoRead application?

Sorry for all the questions!

Regards,
Alain

Custom actions are written with C++ or Delphi and use the Extended MAPI library. In other words, not for the fainthearted
