I would like to hear a tone and see the envelope notification on the screen
when I receive a new email. I have set everything up, but no sound and no
envelope alert when the new email arrives. Outlook is set up to receive
mail from my hotmail account. Any suggestions or solutions? Thanks.

it does not work with secondary accounts or http.

How many accounts do you have? Are you using Outlook Live or HTTP to access
hotmail? Are the messages delivered to the default message store?

Diane, I have only one account (e-mail address removed) I use HTTP for the
default mail account. When I go into "E-mail Accounts" two are listed:
Emily May Hotmail Account HTTP (default) and also www.hotmail.com HTTP

If you're using a Hotmail Premium account, there's a link on MSN that allows
you do download Outlook Live.
