I will be migrating a small number of Windows 2000 workstation from an
NT 4.0 network to a Windows 2003 network. Of course this means everyone
will have a new local profile when they log into the new network.
How much of the I.E. settings can be retained simpyl by copying the
contents of the old profile folder into the new one? Is that the
recommended method? What abotu other apps such as Word and Excel, is it
a simeple file copy or is it more involved.
I inherited our old NT 4.0 network and it has had so many tweaks and
kinks over the year that I decided just to create a new Win 2003 network
and manually move files and email over. I figure this would be the
cleanest way to do it. We mostly do file sharing and email. Not too
much else.
