Hi all. I just purchased a new laptop computer. WinXP, all critical updates
etc. I installed Microsoft Word shortly afterwards. For a few days the blue
"W" ord icon was showing at the top on the screen in Internet Explorer. I
has disappeared for some reason. It was there for a few days, and when I
clicked on it Word would open. There is the "Printer" icon, next is "edit
with notepad", and finally"Discuss". What did I change to remove Word?
Thanks to anyone.

Hi:

From what you have said I assume that you have somehow deleted your
Microsoft Word icon. To place another icon for Word back on your desktop
screen go to Start>All Programs>right click on Microsoft Word and scroll
down to Send to and click on Desktop (create shortcut). This will create
another Word icon on your desktop.

Thanks for the reply, however the message states at the top of Internet
Explorer, not the desktop.

Sorry about that.

You might try right clicking on the Toolbar area and then click on Customize
and see if Word is listed where you can add it to your Toolbar. When I
installed MS Money 2003 it added this icon that I could add to the Toolbar.
However, I have Word 2002 installed and apparently it does not give the
option of adding to the Toolbar.

That's kinda the same problem I have. I checked the toolbar, but Word option
is not available. Can't figure out where it went.
