New laptop with Vista. Outlook will not open MAP132 corrupt alert

Installed Office 2003 Professional on new laptop & Outlook will not open. Box
opens with cannot start microsoft office outlook. MAP13.DLL is corrupt or the
wrong version. This could have been caused by installing other messaging
software.Please reinstall outlook.

There is no other messaging software and I have reinstalled office 2003 and
installed available office 203 updates.

Suggestions will be gratefully received.

Did you maybe have a trial version Office installed that you failed to
uninstall first?

If Outlook 2007 has been installed previously on this computer then you
sometimes need to do a repair on MSMAPI32.DLL
