and how do I get rid of it???

I recently opened a web page, cdcovers.cc, and before I could move the
mouse I had downloaded two programs. One was a time sync program and the
other attached a search bar to my XP's task bar. A search bar for free
coupons, etc etc.

Both programs were listed in the add/remove programs and I quickly removed
them. Of courst I had to go through half a dozen popups asking me if I was
really serious about removing these valuable programs.

Now, whenever I open IE6 along comes 3 or 4 adds for dating services, new
cars, etc. etc.

Opening IE triggers these web sites. I have looked in all the usual places
but I can't find the reference. I would really appreciate a lead for this
obnoxious problem.

Thanks in advance.
