new installation - domain does not exist

I just formatted a new hard drive and am installing
windows xp pro. I've just been following the prompts,
and i got an administator password logon window that i
can't get past. No matter what password I enter, it
says: the specified domain either does not exist or could
not be contacted.

any ideas?
 
during installation you should install it on workgroup. and after complete
installation
connect the machine with domain.
