David

I am replacing my 15G hd with a 120G hd. I used the
Western Digital software to copy the old drive to the new
but the computer won't boot to the new drive because of
missing NTLDR. I have read that the info in the boot file
of the new drive doesn't match the new drive and that's
the cause but I don't know how to correct the record. Any
help?
Thanks.

Hi!

This is an easy one to fix in SOME but not all cases...
Boot your computer using a Windows 98 or ME Boot disk,
choosing to start the computer WITH CD-ROM Support.

Place your Windows XP CD in the drive, and access it by
typing the drive letter followed by a colon (e.g. E: if
your CD-ROM drive is E (a message will tell you this)).
Then type CD\I386 to enter the I386 sub-directory. Then
type the following:

copy ntldr c:\ {Press ENTER}
Once it is copied, remove the boot disk and the Windows
CD, then restart your computer!

Hope this helps!!

Mortz.
