New HD how to gain info from my old HD

Tony Hagman Sweden

I has had a crash in ma HD, all ifo is still there but I
c'ant get My folders becose its password protected, is it
possibly to copy my documents to my new HD in any way, as
son as I try I only get the error yuo have no acces to
this folder.
Please help me

The problem is that the HD I start up windows from is not
the same that I will get the folders from
 
In a computer running NTFS file system and Windows XP Professional Edition,
you need to disable simple file sharing and go to the file
properties\security and
apply total control permissions to your account and take Ownership if the
changes
do not save... For a Windows XP Home Edition you need to logon in Safe Mode
to have the Security tab present. Make the changes in the
HD[letter]:\properties
for permissions to inherit to the subfolders... this makes it easyer to do.

If you prefer to read the pages in Sweedish, change the four letters
describing the
language and country to your language and country abbreviations..
( EG: change en-us to sw-se [if it's not sw you'll still get the idea])...
