'New Hardware' (not)

when I boot I get a message that new hardware (a mouse) has been installed,
which it hasn't. How may I turn this off?

Did you plug your usb mouse into a different usb port? That would
explain the message. Just let the wizard complete and you won't be
bothered by it again.

Ah, quite probably. However, if I let it 'find' the driver it never
does.....

Is it a 'special' mouse?
Have you installed the actual driver it came with?
Gone to the manufacturer's web page and gotten their latest driver for the
OS you run?

It's the Advent wireless mouse that came with the Advent PC. Dammed if I can
locate a driver!

Since the mouse came with your Advent computer, check with Advent tech
support.
